We are shocked and appalled by the CSU Board of Trustees’ decision to hand out fat pay raises to the top CSU executives while the university remains poorly funded with an inadequate budget. They continue to tax students with fee hikes to fill financial gaps. It adds up to a higher education system in decline. Join the California Faculty Association and CSU staff, students and supporters at the Trustees’ next meeting. Let them know we expect them to follow California’s visionary higher education plan and keep the CSU strong.

• Start fighting for a budget that reflects the REAL NEEDS of the CSU

• Stop squeezing students by raising fees year after year to make up budget shortfalls. Keep the CSU affordable and accessible.

• Stop demanding take-aways in bargaining. Turn your attention to decent raises for the faculty and staff who have sacrificed enough.

• Stop giving excessive raises to CSU execs while people who work in the CSU can’t attain a middle-class living.

Faculty, students and staff should not have to suffer because the CSU Administration and Trustees can’t get their priorities straight.
