More than 50 days after the deadline to pass a state budget, lawmakers and the governor continue to be mired in an ongoing budget stalemate.
While there were hopeful signs late last week when Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and Assembly Speaker John A. Perez met several times with the governor in hopes of hashing out a budget deal, now the two sides again seem at odds.
