Support continues to build for the proposed $365 million increase to the CSU budget.
Last week, Alice Huffman – the influential head of the California State Conference of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) – sent a letter to the governor urging him to ensure the $365 million remains intact in the final state budget.
Huffman wrote, “The NAACP believes our state has reached a historical turning point: will we protect the educational opportunities of our youth and workers who have lost their jobs, or will we abandon such opportunities in the name of short term budget gains? It is our hope that you will help in rebuilding the quality and accessibility of our public universities.”
