CFA invites faculty members, staff and students to join Frances Fox Piven, Barbara Ehrenreich and student activists for a national teach-in on the jobs crisis and student activists’ fight for workers' rights, equal access to education, fair taxation, and economic and social justice.
A webcast screening of this National Teach-In dubbed "Students Rising for Jobs and Economic Justice" will be 7–8:30 pm EDT. It will be web-streamed live from the University of California, Washington Center
The United States continues to suffer from a raging jobs crisis, with young people, especially young people of color, being some of the hardest hit. On top of that, governors in many states are punishing public employees and undermining their collective bargaining rights, enacting measures to suppress youth voter turnout, and limiting access to higher education with deep funding cuts. The students who can afford to finish college are saddled with crushing debt and left to struggle in an abysmal job market.
Join the movement to fight back by organizing a teach-in on your campus and then discussing local and state issues and campaigns that you can move forward. The time for action is now!
Register your local screening and find more information and resources here today.
