Petition to Rebuild the CSU

Petitions are circulating through the faculty on every CSU campus that will encourage the governor to increase state funding for the CSU’s 2005/06 budget.

The petition calls on the governor to:
  • Increase enrollment growth funding
  • Add at least 4.5 petition to the base budget
  • Provide first-year funding for ACR 73 to add tenure-track positions, reduce class size, and improve faculty-student ratio
  • Protect student access and affordability

This drive is the first step in CFA’s escalating campaign to secure state funding to Rebuild the CSU. The campaign will intensify after the governor releases his proposed budget Jan. 10 and the Legislature begins budget hearings. Faculty members who sign the petition will help build our message and influence in the Capitol. But just as important those involved in the petition drive — those who sign and signature collectors — will be taking the first step in joining the campaign effort on behalf of rebuilding the CSU. There will be a lot more to do for all of us as time goes on.

Signed petitions will be delivered to the governor in the spring. For more information and to help circulate the petition contact the CFA chapter office on your campus or download and make copies of the petition from the link below
