First, a note of appreciation to the 50 SDSU faculty members who made the 9-hour roundtrip on the CFA buses to walk picket lines in support of our striking colleagues at CSU Dominguez Hills. We owe them a debt of gratitude for standing up for ALL of us.
Our SDSU group included faculty members from colleges across our campus -- from Health and Human Services and PSFA, to Engineering and the Sciences, to Arts and Letters, Education, and the Library. Faculty of all ranks participated, including a dozen current and former SDSU department chairs.
In all, it was a great cross-section of our SDSU faculty who made the trip to CSU Dominguez Hills.
The faculty strike succeeded in shutting down business-as-usual at the two campuses and in sending a message to the Chancellor that the faculty WILL act in support of our contract and quality higher education.
