The CFA Board of Directors reviewed the membership vote on concerted actions -- a 93% vote in support of a call for a one-day strike -- and the CFA Board authorized a one-day strike on November 17, on two CSU campuses, CSU Dominguez Hills and CSU East Bay.
CFA Statewide President Lil Taiz stated, "We hope this carefully targeted strike, which symbolizes both our anger and our commitment to fairness, will lead to changes in Chancellor Reed's priorities and his positions."
Support Our Striking Colleagues -- Join Us on the Bus on Nov
17!
Our striking colleagues at East Bay and Dominguez Hills have our
deep respect for their leadership -- and they deserve our
strongest possible support.
Dozens of SDSU faculty members are signed up to travel to the Dominguez Hills campus to support the one-day strike. Buses will leave SDSU at 7:30am on November 17 and arrive back at SDSU by 4:30pm. CFA will provide breakfast and lunch and make the logistics as simple as possible. Although our campus is not striking on Nov 17, consider joining us on the bus to support our striking colleagues at DH.
Please let us know by reply e-mail if you may be able to join us on November 17, so that we may reserve a seat for you.
Informational Picketing - Wednesday, 11:30am-1:00pm
Next week's strike is symptomatic of much bigger problems, not
just the issues we are striking over. Join our Informational
Picket Line on OUR campus this Wednesday, November 9,
11:30am-1:00pm, just north of Love Library. If we want to change
Chancellor Reed's priorities, we need to Stand Up and Speak Out.
I will be sure to provide updates on the November 17 strike and
hope that you will be able to join us in traveling to the
Dominguez Hills campus in support of our colleagues.
