Bargaining update from CFA
Dec. 13, 2013

December 10, 2013

Last week, the CFA bargaining team made a number of proposals to the CSU in the areas of workload, compensation and stability. These proposals come directly from the survey conducted this fall. CFA also has received one proposal from the CSU, and we spent some time inquiring about its purpose.

Negotiators are representing the senior faculty, pre-tenured faculty, lecturers, counselors, coaches and librarians who are covered by the contract, which is set to expire June 30, 2014.

Negotiations between CFA and CSU were positive compared to past years.

Modest pay increases to appear in Dec. 1 paychecks

November 19, 2013

General Salary Increases (GSI) that were negotiated last summer between CFA and CSU management are scheduled to be included in Dec. 1 paychecks.

The amount will be paid retroactively to July 2013. The total is pro-rated to a faculty member’s time base.  This is a permanent increase to each faculty member’s base salary.

The negotiations were part of “reopener” bargaining over compensation in the last year of the current contract, which expires June 30, 2014.
