Bargaining Update Meetings inform members statewide

Members of the CFA Bargaining Team and officers are fanning out across the state to hold campus bargaining meetings and help inform members about negotiations between the union and CSU management.

At Chico State, about 50 faculty gathered in Kendall Hall to hear Charles Toombs and Jen Eagan, bargaining team colleagues and CFA associate vice presidents, to hear a 90-minute discussion about our efforts to secure a fair contract.

“The bargaining discussion was very informative in helping us understand the current issues still open for negotiation, particularly salary and workload, and what we need to do collectively as faculty if we are not satisfied with what the CSU administration is offering. And we are not!” said Susan Green, a history professor at Chico and treasurer of CFA.

“Given the level of engagement of Chico faculty in the past on contract negotiations and workplace actions, I know we will do everything we can as a campus to improve the possibility of achieving a fair contract.”
