Campus CFA Chapter meetings prep CFA members for Tentative Agreement vote

At campus CFA Chapter meetings up and down the state, CFA members are examining the Tentative Agreement between CFA and CSU management to extend the contract through June 2020. And, they like what they see.

“Faculty on our campus are feeling good about this agreement,” CSU East Bay CFA Chapter President Nick Baham said after the meeting Monday on his campus. “I’m thankful to our Bargaining Team for getting us a two-year extension because it gives us something of a breather from the intensity of bargaining that has required strike talk more than once.”

Baham said that in addition to the vote, the meeting took up CFA’s social justice vision, including the need for fair salaries for faculty, free tuition for students, quality public higher education for everyone, and anti-racist institutional practices in our higher education system.

CFA members will vote online on the Tentative Agreement starting at 6 am on Monday, October 30 and ending at 2 pm on Thursday, November 2. The link to a virtual voting booth will be emailed to members and is posted on the CFA website.
