CFHE to hold 8th National Gathering
January 2015

The Campaign for the Future of Higher Education is holding its Eighth National Gathering in Los Angeles in January.

The meeting, hosted by CFA, will include panels that examine forms of privatization within education (including K-12 schools). In addition, faculty and members of the United Workers’ Congress will discuss the politics of contingent, part-time labor in and outside the academy.

There also will be an update on the accreditation fight at San Francisco City College focusing especially on how activists there have engaged an entire community around the issue. Indeed, discussion about building alliances within higher ed and beyond will be a critical topic of the meeting.

CFHE was founded in 2011 in an effort to promote broad access to higher education and for years has worked to help improve affordability and access to quality higher education. For more information about the Campaign for the Future of Higher Education, go to www.futureofhighered.org.
