Disturbing inequities in how CSU has been funded; CFA report to be released Thursday

This Thursday, CFA will release some disturbing findings in a report that looks at trends in state funding for the California State University system.

The release comes as the state begins the annual debate over how much money the state will devote to a wide range of public goods, including the California State University.

On a news call to brief reporters, CFA President Jennifer Eagan will be joined by:

  • CFA Associate VP Cecil Canton who chairs the CFA Council for Affirmative Action,
  • José Cintrón who is a professor of Bilingual and Multi-Cultural Education at Sacramento State University,
  • Gary Rhoades, director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona, who will provide a national perspective,
  • Fatima Rios, a Political Science major at CSU San Marcos, and
  • Liz Sanchez, a graduate student in Sociology at CSU Fullerton.
