Email Gov. Brown: It’s time to reinvest in the CSU!

Unable to attend CFA’s Lobby Day but want to make a difference? You can!

The May revise of Gov. Jerry Brown’s state budget is just around the corner, and we are asking faculty, students, and supporters to send emails urging reinvestment in our California State University system.

The governor’s budget proposes to increase funding for the CSU by just $92 million for the 2018-19 fiscal year. CFA is calling for an additional $422.6 million for the CSU, which could increase access for more than 18,000 qualified students, and ensure our university system has the funding it needs to ensure quality working conditions for faculty and learning conditions for students.

As CFA Vice President Charles Toombs pointed out in CFA’s recent podcast, “We want increased funding because we want the students that we have now in the CSU to have the same benefits and opportunities as 30 years ago, when the students were predominantly white.”

Make your voice heard today! Email lawmakers that it is time to reinvest in the People’s University and in our students.
