Ithaca College faculty trying to secure contract, need our support

Contingent faculty at Ithaca College in New York have been working on securing a contract for more than a year, and are now asking for support in persuading administrators there settle terms.

The goal is to secure a contract that “prioritizes a student-centered IC, creates more stability for contingent faculty and students, and provides a pathway to equal pay for equal work.” Workers there are being represented by SEIU and are part of the Faculty Forward efforts.

Compensation and greater security for contingent faculty are keeping the sides at odds, despite progress having been made in the area of greater job security for part-time faculty who have taught at the college for three years or more.
