DON’T FORGET THE U.S. CENSUS:  There’s been a lot of ongoing uncertainty with everything surrounding the current pandemic, the 2020 Census included. But now more than ever, we need to make sure everyone is counted so we can have the proper funding for the critical resources that workers and their families depend on. This includes funding for our hospitals, healthcare programs, schools, and housing and food assistance!  CFA members who haven’t already are encouraged to fill out their census form online.  Also, it is imperative that we spread the word about the Census.  California includes many “hard-to-count” areas and populations, including college students, renters, and homeless or home-insecure.  Make sure you’re talking to students, coworkers, friends, and family about the importance of participating.  Read Census FAQs here for more information.  Let’s make sure Everyone is Counted!!!

CALPERS’ PROTECTS MEMBER BENEFITS: Although its headquarters office in Sacramento and regional offices are closed to the public, CalPERS leaders want pension members to know the public employee retirement system is fully operational and that workers’ benefits are safe.  CalPERS is the largest public pension fund in the country and provides retirement benefits for CSU faculty.  Check the CalPERS coronavirus page for updates and FAQs, including information on health plan coverage and state guidelines.
