Push toward a fair contract: Bargaining reconvenes in June

Bargaining between CFA and CSU administration is set to reconvene in June at the Chancellor’s office in Long Beach.

Our contract expires on June 30, and the CFA bargaining team has been working hard to address key issues, among which are faculty salary, growing and excessive workload demands, and improvements in working conditions.

At the same time, CFA also has been counting down to the contract’s expiration as part of our 100-Day Contract Countdown. We’ve held events on campuses statewide and are posting videos every day on our website that highlight real faculty speaking about the real need for a fair contract. Bargaining dates are scheduled as follows: June 5-6, 19-20, and from the 26th through the end of the contract.

“The CFA bargaining team met its pledge to have all its issues out in the month of May,” said Andy Merrifield, chair of the bargaining team. “Management has made a pledge to have a comprehensive response by the first week in June. We look forward to that response so that we can finalize the fair contract we so richly deserve as soon as possible.”
