Ratification vote done!

Voting by CFA members on the Tentative Agreement between CFA and CSU management over faculty salaries is done.

The ratification vote, which began at 6 am Friday, April 22, ended at Noon on Friday, April 29. All CFA members were eligible to vote — it’s a right of membership.

Faculty have been learning more about the tentative agreement over the past week at all-faculty meetings held on CSU campuses throughout the state. Click here to view a photo gallery from several meetings.

The tentative agreement was unanimously recommended for ratification by the CFA Bargaining Team and CFA’s Board of Directors.

The agreement would give all faculty:

  • a 5% General Salary Increase (GSI) on June 30, 2016;
  • a 2% increase on July 1, 2016;
  • and a 3.5% increase on July 1, 2017.

Given that each increase would raise faculty members’ base salary by that percentage, together, they compound to 10.8% over the next fifteen months. Many faculty also would receive a Service Salary Increase (SSI) of 2.65% in 2017 under the tentative agreement.

Other gains in the tentative agreement include a higher minimum at promotion for tenure line faculty of 9% (up from 7.5%) and a commitment to reform range elevation for lecturer faculty. For more details about the tentative agreement, click here.
