Voting on strike authorization continues after big first week

Voting at San Marcos

After a tremendous first week of voting in which thousands of faculty came to the polls in support of a fair contract, in-person voting is underway this week at Chico, Channel Islands, East Bay, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Northridge, Pomona, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo & Stanislaus.

For those faculty members at campuses where in-person voting is completed, you may still vote online.

As faculty resume voting, CFA leaders emphasize that despite dis-information circulated by the Chancellor’s office, this strike vote is about the ability of faculty to provide the best education possible to our students.

CFA President Lillian Taiz said, “The Chancellor’s offer would let class sizes keep soaring, take away lecturer job security, and pay us less for the same work. It’s not about money. It’s about defending a quality education.”
