Headlines to include

75 days to go until the current faculty contract expires

All over the CSU, campus chapters of CFA are engaged in “Countdown Action” to raise awareness about the faculty contract talks and to collect “100 Voices” videos of our colleagues explaining why a #FairContractCFA is so important to us.

Check out Contract Countdown photos and videos of faculty speaking out for a Fair Contract at your campus on your CFA campus chapter Facebook page.

Update from the CFA Bargaining Team

The CFA Bargaining Team met with CSU management for one day before the team headed for the semi-annual CFA Assembly.

At this point, the sides continue to discuss various issues including, at this session, teaching in Extended Education.

The next bargaining dates are April 24-25 in Sacramento.

The CFA Bargaining Team asks CFA members to show your support by putting the 100-Day Contract Countdown Calendar sign on your door. Click here to download a PDF of the sign

Local district CFA Lobby Days this month for funding, bills

CFA campus chapters are organizing local visits to state Assembly members and Senators in their local district offices this month.

After more than 100 faculty, staff and students lobbied heavily at State Capitol April 1-2, the CFA Assembly decided to take the push back home into the district offices.

The faculty-lobbyists are advocating for the funding the CSU needs and for two bills that would help to protect students.

80th CFA Assembly

Delegates representing all CFA campus chapters gathered in Los Angeles last weekend for the 80th CFA Assembly, the union’s representative decision-making body.

In addition to taking up the regular business of our union—electing CFA reps to affiliated organizations, reviewing the finances, and so on—the delegates received an overview report from CFA President Lillian Taiz on CFA’s work and accomplishments.
