CFA kicks off the fall, Fight for Fairness

With the start of the school year nearly underway, CFA leaders and activists gathered in Los Angeles for the Fall Kickoff on Aug. 14-15, where they developed plans for the fall and our Fight for Fairness.

Over the summer, contract talks between CFA and CSU management over salary stalled and impasse was declared (for details, see the bargaining update in this report or click here). CFA has been planning for the fall term and is committed to our fight for fair salaries for faculty.


Bargaining Update: Contract talks move into mediation

CFA Bargaining Team members and CSU management will meet with a mediator Aug. 31 in Sacramento to continue talks regarding faculty salary increases.


Email Gov. Brown today and urge support of supplanting legislation

A CFA-sponsored bill that seeks to define supplanting within the CSU needs your help.

AB 716, which defines supplanting as the process of moving state-supported courses to Extended Education, where students pay more and faculty are paid less, has passed through the Legislature and is now awaiting Gov. Jerry Brown’s signature.


Faculty Rights Tip of the Week: Personal Holiday

As faculty are planning for the coming fall term it’s important to know that every faculty employee is entitled to one Personal Holiday each year.
