CFA HEADLINES • June 3, 2020

Dear Reader: This is the last scheduled edition of CFA Headlines for Spring 2020. Every year, CFA Headlines ends in the Spring. This summer, though, feels much different than years past. For much of the U.S., COVID-19 is affecting thousands of people in our society daily, adversely affecting Black, Native/indigenous and Chicanx/Latinx people at disproportionate rates. At the same time, protests nationwide are calling for valuing Black lives given the recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and Ahmaud Arbery. Last week, CFA released a statement of the murder of Mr. Floyd. Our union is working on a thoughtful, inclusive anti-racism and social justice campaign to enact systemic change for our communities.
Despite the Headlines hiatus, our work continues behind the scenes. CFA will continue to send out communications on these important issues. We will also send out Special Editions of Headlines to our subscribers when there is news to share. Please be safe and healthy this summer. CFA Headlines will resume its weekly publication in August 2020.
