Increasing state funding for the California State University and supporting key legislation were central to discussions between faculty, students, and legislators Tuesday during CFA’s Lobby Day.

The May revise of Gov. Jerry Brown’s state budget is just around the corner, and we are asking faculty, students, and supporters to send emails urging reinvestment in our California State University system.


CFA Bargaining Team tackles Academic Freedom, Intellectual Property

CFA’s Bargaining Team met with management twice in April to discuss Academic Freedom and Intellectual Property. As part of the agreement to extend the contract last year, CFA and CSU management had agreed to discuss issues of concern prior to bargaining the next faculty contract in Fall 2019.  


Faculty Rights Tip of the Week: June Deadlines for Notification of Tenure

Under Article 13: Tenure in our Collective Bargaining Agreement, June 1 is the contractual deadline for local campus administrators to notify probationary faculty of the final decision regarding retention, appointment with tenure, or appointment to a final terminal year.

TRANSCENDENCE @ CSU STANISLAUS: The CFA Stanislaus chapter is co-sponsoring a conference aimed at transgender and gender-nonconforming needs in the Central Valley and beyond.

The conference will be held from 8:30am – 4:30pm on Friday, May 4, followed by an evening reception from 5-7:30pm at CSU Stanislaus. The conference meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing credit for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, or LEPs.
