Get ready to vote: Dates set for contract extension ratification

Mark your calendars! Dates are set for the ratification vote to extend the contract for two years. CFA members will have the opportunity to vote on the tentative agreement starting at 6 am Monday, Oct. 30 through 2 pm Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017.


CFA-sponsored law aiding undocumented students, DACA recipients, CSU employees signed

CFA is committed to Anti-Racism and Social Justice work. Our legislative effort to protect the undocumented in the CSU—signed into law last week by Gov. Jerry Brown—is the latest way we’ve put our dedication to fighting racism and exclusion into action.


Help for faculty impacted by fires

Fires raging throughout the state have impacted several CSU campuses, but there is help for faculty who have experienced significant losses due to disaster in California.


Faculty Rights Tip: What’s in your PAF?

Every faculty member, including instructional faculty, coaches, counselors, and librarians has a Personnel Action File (PAF). It is the only official personnel file for employment information and information that may be relevant to personnel recommendations or actions.

Article 11 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement covers the various rules about faculty Personnel Action Files.

FIRST EVER LECTURER EMERITA: Dr. Jean Simutis is the first lecturer to be named Lecturer Emerita at CSU East Bay, effective Fall 2017. Starting in 1990 until she retired in 2015, she taught 15 different math courses, all as a Lecturer. Math Chair Julie Glass wrote, “Jean’s service to students, the department and university was exceptional. Congratulations Jean!”
