Resolution for Nationwide/Statewide Days of Action on March 1 and March 5
Save the Dates!

Hi CFA Members,

On January 9, the CFA-EB Executive Board approved the following resolution:

We call for a Statewide Day of Action in Defense of Public Education on Thursday, March 1, 2012.

The goal is to build the broadest unity in action of students, teachers, workers, and their organizations — from Pre-K-12 through the CCs,CSUs, and UCs — to call to reverse education budget cuts, tuition increases, and layoffs, and fully fund all levels of public education by making the rich and corporations pay. It is up to each school and organization to determine what concrete local actions they will organize for the Day of Action.

We encourage participants to continue the momentum of the Day of Action by participating in a Walk to Sacramento beginning on Friday, March 2, which will arrive on foot to the Capitol for the Monday, March 5 rally organized by various student governments. We further support the coordination of mass non-violent actions in Sacramento.

We are in the process of working with students to plan an event for Thursday, March 1, and we plan to be in Sacramento for all Public Education (K-Ph.D.) lobby day and show of strength on Monday, March 5th.

If you are interesting in joining us in planning these events, please contact me.

I will be back in touch to let you know how you can participate and how you can get your students involved!

In solidarity,
