Cal State U. Trustees ratify contract with faculty

For Immediate Release

The California State University Board of Trustees have ratified the collective bargaining agreement with the California Faculty Association at their September 18-19 meeting.

CFA members voted to accept the agreement late last month. On September 4, CFA announce that 91% voted  in favor.

The votes end nearly two years of often contentious negotiations between the two sides. The contract covers teaching faculty, librarians, counselors and coaches on the 23 California State University campuses.

CFA President Lillian Taiz said today, “This agreement allows the CSU community to focus its attention on critical matters related to increasing revenue to the state and to the California State University. Passage of Proposition 30 is at the top of that agenda.

“Supporters of our public higher education system need to Vote Yes on 30 in the November 6 election,” Taiz added. “Students today and in the future depend on what we do today to make sure public education is there for the people of California.”
