Lobbying Information

Each year, CFA adopts a legislative agenda of bills that CFA’s Board of Directors believes are important. CFA then lobbies for those bills in the State Legislature and with the Governor.

We also advocate for increased funding for the CSU with our lobbying efforts.

CFA’s members play a crucial role in helping to pass CFA-sponsored or supported legislation and support increased state investment in the CSU through our budget advocacy by participating in CFA’s Annual Lobby Days and our in-district lobby visits.

Legislators want to hear from their constituents including CFA members that live in their districts. CFA’s Lobby Days and in-district lobby visits help promote CFA-sponsored legislation which will benefit the CSU and support the state investing more funds into the CSU.

Below are resources to help faculty when lobbying on behalf of CFA. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CFA Government Relations team at or (916) 441-4848.
