Race to the Bottom: 3rd CFA White Paper goes public April 7

This four-part series, released in Spring 2015, analyzes the impact of California State University administration’s priorities and decisions on CSU faculty, students and public higher education.

CFA’s third Race to the Bottom White Paper will be released this Tuesday in connection with CFA’s Lobby Day and Rally on the Capitol Steps.

The first two white papers have revealed disturbing trends in the CSU that include stagnant faculty pay, a loss of permanent faculty jobs, and a severe 31% fall in the number of faculty in line for tenure while the number of temporary faculty positions is up by 46%.

Meanwhile, the papers show, the number of managers is up, pay for managers and executives is up, and the number of students to be taught by fewer teachers also is up.
