Thinking about ways to become more involved with the union?

On Friday, March 26 from 10-12, CFA is hosting an introduction to Faculty Rights.

In this Faculty Rights for All informational session, we will share an overview of who the CFA statewide representation team is and what we do. This is a great event to attend if you think you might want to join us in empowering members and enforcing rights in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If you are interested, please contact HSU Chapter Faculty Rights Chair, Rebecca Robertson by March 25th for registration information:

You must register to receive zoom link. You will not be allowed into the meeting if you cannot be identified.

Become a Department Representative
It’s time to build our Department Rep system. This is a key role in our chapter that anyone can do! Department Reps foster channels of communication between academic departments and the CFA Executive Board. Support your colleagues and ensure your department is union strong.

The time commitment is minimal, about 4 - 10 hours a month, depending on how involved your schedule and desire allows. Some responsibilities include:

  • Attending monthly Department Rep meetings
  • Announcing events, actions, initiatives at your department meetings
  • Notifying CFA Executive Board of issues and concerns in your department
  • Problem solving issues and concerns based on the collective bargaining agreement, MOU’s and activism
  • Recruiting new members to build union power on campus and for statewide contract negotiations.
