The Council on Racial and Social Justice is proud to announce that one speaker on a much-demanded panel about Immigration Enforcement at this year’s Equity Conference will be NorCal Resist, whose work is rooted in keeping our communities safe.
The 2026 Equity Conference will take place virtually from March 12-14. Please register here before March 6.
NorCal Resist will present their work on the panel, “Community Defense to Watch ICE,” at the conference. A grassroots community organization that supports refugee and immigrant communities, NorCal Resist facilitates asylum workshops, ICE bonds, deportation defense, Know your Rights trainings, court watch, accompaniment support and trainings, and facilitates a rapid response Migra Watch network. They provide mutual aid through Seeds of Solidarity Farm, skill shares, and emergency preparation.
NorCal Resist has impacted thousands of individuals across Northern California, working to build infrastructure against oppression and empower communities through shared resources and support. At this year’s conference, they will be part of a panel that will give participants an opportunity to learn from frontline organizers and their models for building powerful labor and community engagement.
“I’ve had the opportunity to join NorCal Resist through Migra Watch/Rapid Response training, court watch at the federal building, and the Seeds of Solidarity Farm,” said Andrea Terry, CFA Sacramento Political Action & Legislation Committee Chair and Sacramento State professor. “They are at the forefront of equipping our community to keep each other safe. In these times where the far right is trying to separate us from each other, NorCal Resist reminds us that solidarity is foundational to successful resistance. I look forward to hearing them in conversation with other groups doing the vital work of being informed and showing up for each other.”
Other panelists on that session include leaders from the CLEAN Carwash Campaign, the California Immigrant Policy Center, and a faculty member a part of the San Luis Obispo rapid response and community patrol team.
This is one of dozens of panels, workshops, and keynote speakers addressing the intensity of the current turbulent moment, a part of this year’s 2026 Equity Conference, “Thriving through the Chaos: Resistance in Turbulent Times.” Please register here.
