Welcome back, faculty! We hope you enjoyed your summer, and here’s to an incredible and successful fall term.

Please join us in welcoming our new CSU faculty. We could not be more excited for you to join us as colleagues!

CFA proudly serves as the collective bargaining representative for all faculty members in the California State University system and we welcome you to our union. We represent you, along with more than 29,000 tenured, tenure-track, lecturer faculty, counselors, librarians, and coaches on all 23 campuses.

CFA is committed to fighting on behalf of our faculty, standing up for our students, and working to make our university a better place to work and learn. Our union negotiates the faculty contract, promotes academic freedom, defends faculty rights, and strives for racial and social justice in the CSU and beyond.

Across the system, this academic year continues to look different than most due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CFA leaders have and continue to work diligently to protect faculty health, safety, and rights guaranteed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. You can find more details about CFA’s advocacy during COVID-19 here.

Through our hard work and collective strength, we have improved access to the CSU, increased state funding and support for the university, and made gains that have improved equity within our workplace.

Currently, we are negotiating for a new contract and we ask that you join us and get involved in our pursuit of a more equitable and inclusive contract for us all. We all work hard and deserve a fair contract, and it will take all of us working together to make these proposals a reality.

Every new member helps to ensure that CFA truly represents faculty views on the critical issues that we must influence; every CFA member helps to attain our goals.
