CFA’s Disability Caucus and CSUEU’s Disability Constituency Group are co-hosting a Zoom event on Wednesday, May 3, from noon to 1 p.m. to discuss emergency evacuations. Faculty, staff and students from all CSU campuses are invited to attend.
We will discuss disability, accommodations, and emergency evacuations. When the fire alarm goes off, can you get out safely? What accommodations are available? Who is your campus leaving behind? Join us for a candid discussion and first steps to possible solutions.
“The ability to get to a safe spot in case of an emergency, usually focuses on strategies for able-bodied individuals with limited assistance for those with disabilities. There are loopholes in the current emergency strategies that leave folks waiting for assistance. Join us as we identify and challenge these strategies for those with disabilities, as a first step to improve safety for all CSU faculty, staff and students,” said Leslie Bryan, CFA Disability Caucus co-chair.
