As California’s winter storm season continues, we find ourselves as a union with our minds and hearts focused on our fellow CSU colleagues and CFA siblings across the state affected by flooding, levee breaks, and snowstorms.

The CFA Disaster Relief Fund provides limited financial resources to support members who have experienced hardship as a result of disasters such as floods, storms, and earthquakes. The goal of this fund is not to replace insurance or governmental assistance, but to provide a supplemental reimbursement for those unusual costs which often stretch our budgets.

“We are a union of colleagues, friends, and allies. We are always stronger and better when we help each other – in good times and bad times. Please consider applying for this fund when you need it. It’s yours as much as ours. And don’t forget to let others who may need it know as well.  I’m so proud of our union for making this fund possible for all our members,” said Vang Vang, CFA treasurer and Fresno State librarian.

Members can find assistance and eligibility details on CFA’s Disaster Relief Fund and complete the application form. Email questions to membership@calfac.org.
