Equity Conference Begins Today!
Today, CFA members will kick off their first day of our three-day virtual 2026 Equity Conference, “Thriving Through the Chaos: Resistance During Turbulent Times.”
This year’s virtual conference will explore the ways we thrive together, how we move purposefully through the chaos, and maintain our focus to resist as a collective. Together, we remember that we are the power, we are united in purpose, and we are enough! Speakers and workshop presentations will wrestle with these how these concepts land in the current moment. and offer our attendees for resistance, including on urgent themes of this year, like from how to protect academic freedom and fight censorship of anything to do with race, gender, and sexuality to digital surveillance and understanding the impact of AI on racial and social justice
A project of the Council for Racial & Social Justice (CRSJ), we are very much looking forward to the rich conversations that our panelists will offer. This annual conference reflects CFA members concerted efforts to center anti-racism and social justice, from our contract and campus fights to our membership and our community struggles. We (our peoples, sovereignties, and nations) continue to be threatened by political upheaval, challenges to the core mission of the CSU, and looming austerity.
The conference aims to offer members concrete tools to reimagine the current moment: to find ways to thrive amid the chaos, build structures for resistance, and rise up together as a community.
Please stay tuned next week as we share a recap of all the wonderful conversations that took place during the conference.
