Register for CFA Department Chairs Trainings
The work of department chairs is important and we want to help you along the way. Have questions about assigning courses? Concerns about your rights as a department chair or program manager? Join us for one of two workshops this month, where we will cover your rights and role as a chair, articles of importance for re-appointment and class assignment, workload, Retention, Tenure, and Promotion (RTP), evaluation and more.

Attend one of two workshops September 19 and 22.
“As a former chair, I attended every year the CSU training for chairs. I gained a lot of knowledge. However, I found the CFA workshops helped prepare me and provide guidance in areas of faculty rights, social justice, equity, taking care of myself as a chair, and best practices to support faculty,” said Sandy Kewanhaptewa-Dixon, CFA Pomona member and former Ethnic & Women’s Studies chair at Cal Poly Pomona.
“CFA workshops spent valuable time on policies and the rights of tenure-track, tenure, and lecturer faculty. I also attended several workshops and trainings and gained valuable information from former chairs in our Ethnic & Women’s Studies department and across campus. I found wonderful allies as I became more involved with CFA who provided first-hand experiences, perspectives, tools, and listened with intent. There is a welcome and a powerful movement of giving. I hope you join us for our CFA Chairs workshop,” added Dixon, who will be presenting at the workshops.
Workshops will be held Monday, September 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Thursday, September 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Space is limited, and RSVP is required. Register here.
