Register for CFA May Budget Revise Town Hall on May 20
Governor Newsom is set to release the May Revise to the 2026-27 budget; this is an update to the January budget proposal using updated tax information. Curious about what the May Revise means? Not sure what’s happening with funding to the CSU?
Join CFA’s Research and Advocacy and Political Strategy teams, along with members of the CFA Bargaining Team, for an overview of updates to the state budget in the Governor’s May Revision. We will talk about what’s in the revised budget proposal, what may not be, how it is connected to ongoing bargaining, and what we can do to ensure the CSU is fully funded.
In January, Newsom released a budget proposal with strong support for the CSU. Since January, the state has taken in billions more in revenue than was originally projected. Overall, revenue for the state is currently 5.5% above the fiscal year-to-date forecast from the Governor’s 2026-27 budget proposal in January. This amounts to $8.6 billion above the forecast.
The May Revise town hall will take place on Wednesday, May 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Register here. Please note the workshop is open to all CFA members. If you’re not already a CFA member, join our movement here.
