AAUP is a nonprofit membership association of faculty and other academic professionals. AAUP also publishes the Journal of Academic Freedom. AAUP has members and chapters based at colleges and universities across the country. Some campus AAUP chapters also have collective bargaining rights like Rutgers University or the University of Oregon.
