A Big Thank You to Our Members for Their Work to Pass Prop 50

Prop 50 has passed overwhelmingly, sending a clear message to the country that California will not sit idle while our democracy is under attack. Election results in other states show that our coalition is strong, energized, and mobilized.  

CFA members met the moment and did the difficult and necessary work to make Tuesday’s victory possible. Through canvassing, phone- and text-banking, and reaching out to family, friends, and colleagues, our members reaffirmed our strong conviction in organized labor in California and showed that there is real power in solidarity. 

We are now seeing some Republican controlled states back down from their own gerrymandering efforts after seeing Tuesday’s election results. They know that if we are seeing these margins in 2026, then even “safe” Republican gerrymandered seats will become tossups. 

We will soon offer greater details on our members’ contributions in our campaign, but we wanted to take this moment to say thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to helping us protect our democracy.
