CFA members recently came together for the Fall Faculty Rights meeting.

People in a meeting and talking.

Attendees reviewed our Collective Bargaining Agreement, learned about the grievance process from start to finish, and received tips for working with members on asserting and protecting faculty rights.

Some of the most important topics are those that guarantee “due process” protections for faculty. These protections establish ground rules regarding personnel action files, evaluations and sundry university personnel decisions and actions.

As CFA members prepare to take a strike authorization vote, a topic of real interest and note at the meeting was what faculty rights are during a strike. The group reviewed the ins and outs of work stoppages and how students can support faculty in the event of a strike.
