Final Reminder to Vote YES on Prop 50 on November 4!
The Statewide Special Election on November 4 is quickly approaching—with Proposition 50 being the only measure on the ballot.
We strongly encourage every CFA member to vote YES on Prop 50!
Proposition 50, also known as the Election Rigging Response Act, is our opportunity to fight back against the Trump administration and MAGA Republicans’ attempts to destroy public education and replace democracy with a fascist regime.

Trump demanded Republicans push through a redistricting plan that would add five additional GOP-controlled seats to the U.S. House of Representatives and strip representation from millions of Texans. This is a clear example of rigging our elections.
If passed, Prop 50 would negate the five Republican seats by temporarily adopting a legislature-drawn map for the 2026 election and use it in California’s congressional elections through 2030. These newly drawn lines could help Democrats gain up to five seats in U.S. House of Representatives. The proposed maps also ensure representation for immigrant communities and communities of color.
The Trump administration’s cuts are causing widespread damage to public education. In addition, the cuts impact healthcare, rising costs of living under tariffs, and the illegal and forced detainment and removal of both our documented and undocumented communities must be stopped.
Prop 50 will give us that opportunity.
Note that it is too late to return your ballot by mail now. Please drop your ballot off at an official ballot drop box from now until election day. Also note that many locations are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
If you missed the October 20 deadline to register to vote, you may complete the “Same Day” voter registration process on November 4 at your local county elections office or any in-person voting location within your county.
We need every CFA member to show up to vote YES on Prop 50! If you would like to volunteer and encourage others to vote, please reach out to your chapter field representative.
