Got Bill Ideas for Our Legislative Team?
Our CFA legislative team is gearing up for the upcoming legislative session and beginning to gather potential bill ideas for 2027. We’ve already heard several thoughtful legislative ideas, including:
- Time, place, and manner policy – building on this year’s work on TPM (AB 2551 – Elwahry)
- University President Appointment – provides mechanisms and guidelines for campus and community input to appoint a University President. (Re-running a 2026 bill)
- Academic Freedom and Shared Governance – Defines Academic Freedom and shared governance in statute and requires a duty to defend them.
We welcome additional bill ideas. If you have any policy proposals or priorities you think we should explore, please share them with us by completing the Bill Ideas Questionnaire Form by October 18th at 9am.
Thank you in advance for your input and insights, and we look forward to moving meaningful legislation in the year ahead!
